I apologize for not writing on here for some time. I've been very busy with my current artworks, along with everything else life throws at us! I do hope that all is well with all of you, and I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you all a very (belated) Merry Christmas and abundant blessings for the New Year!
Today I am very excited to announce the arrival of the "Prints-on-Demand" feature on this website! With the click of a button you may now order museum quality giclee' prints of some of my artworks as indicated. In addition, they may be purchased with or without a mat and/or frame. Additional information may be found by going to the "Purchase Info" page.
I will also be adding this feature to other artworks as soon as they are ready.

I am currently researching and working on a new painting of a mountain lion in a high desert scene. There will be more to it than that, but I don't want to give away too much information at this point. It will be the first in a series of paintings called "The Horsefly Series." I will be posting updates, so stay tuned!

I hate to use the "s" word, but it's almost time for school to start again! Can you believe it? I know that they seem to be starting school earlier each year nowdays, but it still always acts like a loud alarm in my mind, alerting me that summer is winding down. Even if we have another month of beautiful weather, that little reminder will stay in the back of my mind until fall arives, urging me to do all the "summer stuff" I can before the weather cools off.
It's been a very busy summer for us. Our garden is producing squash and cucumbers like crazy, and the carrots and onions aren't far behind. We're hoping to have some melons this year, too.
I'm finishing up a large charcoal drawing of a mother grizzly and her cubs. My love for detail has resulted in a later finish date than I anticipated. I've also spent some extra time researching the "look" I'm after with this drawing, as well as reading up on some good articles from my favorite art magazines. I love art stuff!
Whenever we go fishing, walking, or just working outside, I usually find myself staring at something like a unique twist to a tree branch, or a pretty rock, interesting weather effects in the sky, or the antics of one of the local critters. I seem to get lost in contemplating how I would depict that subject in one of my paintings or drawings. I'm sure other artists do the same, but it turns me into a bit of a daydreamer sometimes. It's not a bad thing. I believe it's an important part of being an artist. A good artist never stops being a student. Whether you are a student of formal education, other artists, or a student of nature, it's critical to never stop learning.
I hope this message finds you all in good spirits, good health, and enjoying a beautiful summer with those you love! God bless!

I am so happy to see the warm weather again! We have been working to get our garden planted and protect it from the wildlife! So the warm weather has brought a longer to-do list for us with it. We are spending more time outside, so I am taking reference pictures and doing field sketches in preparation for future works.
I will be posting a couple of new charcoal drawings very soon, so be sure to stay tuned.
Again, please feel free to post comments or questions here on my blog, or you can email me. I look forward to hearing from you! Have a great summer!
